A seaside-set paranormal mystery-from the authors of the Renaissance Faire mystery Ghastly Glass Meet Dae O’Donnell, a woman with a gift for finding lost things-and the stories behind lost lives… Dae O’Donnell is the mayor of Duck, North Carolina-and the person everyone turns to when they’ve lost something. One touch and Dae can find it, and missing pieces seem to find their way to her, whether she wants them to or not. When Miss Mildred asks Dae to find her missing watch, Dae finds herself looking for more than mislaid jewelry-she must prove the town matriarch isn’t a cold-blooded killer.

Dae is the mayor of Duck, North Carolina. She also owns a store where she sells treasures she finds through less than ordinary means. She can find anything. But, this kind of backfires on her when she is asked to find a watch, which ends up being attached to a dead woman.

I love the idea behind this story. I can see a lot of possibility for this series. It’s a unique psychic ability that I haven’t read any books about before.

I liked that the book got to the goal quickly. It is steadily paced, with no lagging parts.

Although I had a hard time identifying with Dae, I did become emotionally invested in the story when Chief Michaels arrests a ninety year old woman for murder. I couldn’t help but care what was going to happen to the poor woman.

I think part of the reason I had a hard time connecting with Dae is because she is nearly obsessive and possessive about her treasures. She repeatedly tells her grandfather to not let anyone buy them when he watches the store.

The mystery is good; the authors do a good job of casting suspicion on multiple people. Also, all the clues were followed up on. It all fit together well.

I enjoyed reading A Timely Vision. I plan to read more books in this series.
